Ongoing development for a Danish life cycle assessment company. I have helped build their LCA screening tool, which lets companies estimate the climate footprint of their products, along with the internal tooling the team runs on every day.

The company and the situation
Målbar is a Danish life cycle assessment company. They help businesses understand and reduce the climate footprint of their products. Their customers range from companies running their first screening to teams that need LCA results inside their own processes. The domain is data-heavy and methodology matters: a number without the assumptions behind it is not useful.
The brief
What they needed
Målbar needed a developer who could help build and keep improving their LCA screening tool, which lets companies estimate the climate footprint of a product from a description of its materials and processes, and at the same time build the internal tooling their team uses every day. Not a one-off project, but someone to stay and grow the product with them.
What I did
What I built and did
Helped build the customer-facing LCA screening tool: modelling inputs, calculations that update as you work, and results that explain themselves.
Built and maintained internal tooling used daily by the Målbar team to support customers and manage data.
Data-heavy interfaces that stay fast and readable for non-technical users.
Ongoing feature development, maintenance and upgrades as the product and customer base grew.
How we worked
The shape of the engagement
A long-running retainer. Short iterations, working software early, and a written weekly update so the team always knows what shipped and what is next. I ask a lot of questions about the methodology before building, which is how I have become useful in LCA conversations without pretending to be an LCA practitioner.
Outcome
What it led to
The engagement has been running for two years and is ongoing. The screening tool and the internal tooling are in daily use, and Målbar keeps bringing new work to the same developer rather than starting over with someone new. That continuity is the outcome I care most about.
